I Heart Me Some Jack Johnson :)

Last night, Kelli and I attempted to go to the Jack Johnson concert... Attempted being the key word since a hurricane appeared out of nowhere directly over The Woodlands. There was some insane lightning which literally touched ground. Since we parked at the mall, we decided to do some window shopping in hopes that the storm would quickly pass. Around 8:45, it finally cleared up, so we made the trek over to the Pavilion. Luckily, we didn't miss much of anything. We found us a nice spot at the top of the hill with minimal mud, next to an interesting hippie couple with a 1 month old baby named Quincey. Cute name! Poor kid for being subjected to the disastrous weather and smoke filled air :(

The show ended up being absolutely amazing despite natures sense of humor. We all know how much Houston humidity rocks! He played a great mix of all his new stuff as well as my favorite oldies! Two thumbs way up!

Ok... So very rarely since the invention of iTunes do I buy an entire CD. However, after discovering Florence + the Machine I was blown away! Go buy the entire album right now... You will not be disappointed :)

Weekend Wrap Up

So this weekend was pretty uneventful for the most part (which I needed oh so desperately)...

Friday, I had a random last minute interview at Schneider Middle School for an ELAR teacher position... This interview went even better than the last one, but still didn't land the job :( At least I am getting the experience of interviewing and knowing what questions they are going to ask... I think some more jobs might be popping up within the next few weeks of school starting so I'm keeping my eyes peeled :)

Saturday, was a day of summer cleaning... Been going through old clothes/random things trying to get rid of stuff for when I move. I am thinking garage sale time???

Sunday, my little sister Jenna was baptized! The service was great and she was so excited! Afterwards, we had a little family get together with some yummy food and marathon WII games. Jenna beat me at EVERY game go figure. Also, I watched the PGA golf tourney with the guys and saw the worst judgement call ever against my future husband Dustin Johnson... So awful! I don't know a whole heck of alot about golf yet, but since when is it fair to try and hit your golf ball out from the middle of a crowd of people not even being able to see that you are in a freaking sand trap? He went from being in playoffs for 1st place to 5th, because of the 2 stroke penalty, and the entire crowd was booing. I'm not sure I have ever heard booing at a golf game. On a separate note... I am honestly happy to see that DB Tiger Woods has been doing ridiculously awful... Love that Karma :)

Liz, This One Is For You :)

So... I recently spent the weekend with my BFF Liz and got an evil death stare about not keeping up with my blog... So here is my official promise to do better!

Well... I am still on the job hunt... I finally had an interview last week, but I checked this morning and the job was not posted anymore and I never got a call... MAJOR BUMMER... I threw myself a mini pity party, shed a few tears and decided to move on. I still have one more interview on the way, and I picked up up all my stuff I need to be a sub again this morning. Back up plans are always good.

Humm... what else... Oh Ashley's Bachelorette party and wedding were both a complete success! She is now Ashley Ahearn! So exciting!

Ash Bash 2010 Bachelorette Party!

Well... Tonight is the night... We are officially starting the bachelorette weekend off right tonight! The amazing Hummer-Limo (which we just booked last weekend at the Bridal Extravaganza) will pick us up at Ashley's house at 9 for the start of the mayhem. The plan of attack I believe is to hit up the Washington Street area and cause some trouble :)

Friday through Sunday we will be staying at a beach house in Galveston... So much planned so far, but most is still a secret so I can't give out any juicy details just yet...Hopefully I will have some goofy pictures to put up here after the weekend!

On a seperate note... the job fair this morning went good. Still feeling discouraged about finding a job since school starts next month, but I have decided to remain optimistic and try to be patient.... I hate it when things are out of my control, but if it's meant to be it will be I suppose...

Welcome :)

Hello out there and welcome to my blog.... Since I have never blogged before this is all brand spanking new to me so hang in there...

I have so much going on in my life right now. Most importantly... Trying to become a teacher and start a career! I am currently an intern in the Alternative Teacher Certification Program with Pasadena ISD and only have 2 weeks left to go! Exciting... Yet scary! I absolutely adore kids and am getting certified to teach Special Education EC-6th grade.

Job hunting may be one of least fun things to do in life. Filling out online applications until you go blind... Sending out countless resumes... Job fairs... Speaking of which, I am going to one tomorrow so wish me luck! Fingers crossed!
